The South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) softball routed the visiting Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC), 7-0 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Cougars (18-4) will now prepare for their bout against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Trojans go into the Mideastern 3A/4A bout with a 10-12 record. In their last bout, West Brunswick was routed by North Brunswick (Leland, NC), 5-4, in a league bout.

The Vikings now possess a 10-7 record. They play next when they host New Hanover for a Mideastern 3A/4A bout on Thursday, May 2.
