St. Croix Falls Saints (St. Croix Falls, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ladysmith Lumberjacks (Ladysmith, WI), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Saints now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cameron for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 2. St. Croix Falls will battle a Comets squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Chetek-Weyerhaeuser (Chetek, WI). The Comets record now stands at 6-9.

With the loss, Ladysmith falls to 1-13 on the campaign. The Lumberjacks travel to Spooner (Spooner, WI) to battle the Rails in a Heart O'North challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Rails enter the challenge with a record of 9-5. Spooner lost 12-4 in their recent league challenge against Northwestern (Maple, WI)
