McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Waynesburg Central Raiders (Waynesburg, PA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now sport a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Seton LaSalle for a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge on Wednesday, May 1. McGuffey will face a Rebels squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Waynesburg Central (Waynesburg, PA). The Rebels record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Waynesburg Central falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Raiders host West Greene (Waynesburg, PA) to face the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 9-5.
