The Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) softball routed the host Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM), 19-2 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Skyhawks (16-7) will now prepare for their bout against Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Thunderbirds go into the 3A District 1 bout with a 4-16 record. In their last bout, Zuni toppled Thoreau (Thoreau, NM), 17-16, in a league bout.
The Thunderbirds now possess a 4-18 record. They play next when they host Newcomb for a 3A District 1 bout on Tuesday, April 30. Zuni will confront a Skyhawks squad coming off a 10-7 non-league loss to Rehoboth Christian (Rehoboth, NM). The Skyhawks record now stands at 14-7.
