Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Proviso West Panthers (Hillside, IL) and the visiting Proviso East Pirates (Maywood, IL), observed Proviso West's volleyball team top Proviso East by a count of 2-0.

The Panthers (8-13) will now prepare for their contest against York (Elmhurst, IL). The Dukes enter the West Suburban contest with a 19-6 record. In their last contest, York notched a victory over Hinsdale Central (Hinsdale, IL), 2-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Pirates meet the Islamic Foundation Chargers (Villa Park, IL) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, May 1. Proviso East will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Chargers enter the contest with a 8-1 record after their 2-0 league win over Hinsdale Adventist Academy (Hinsdale, IL).
