Virginia High School Softball - Altavista held off by Chatham

The Chatham Cavaliers got by the host Altavista Colonels softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Wednesday's league challenge.

Next, the Cavaliers meet the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) in a Dogwood challenge, on Friday, May 2. Chatham will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Governors go into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 11-1 non-league win over Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA).

The Colonels (3-8) will now prepare for their challenge against William Campbell (Naruna, VA). The Generals go into the Dogwood challenge with a 2-7 record. In their last challenge, William Campbell was nudged by Gretna (Gretna, VA), 5-2, in a league challenge.
