Illinois High School Softball - Seneca bounces Coal City

In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Seneca Fighting Irish softball team scored a tight 9-4 win over the Coal City Coalers.

The Fighting Irish (22-0) will now prepare for their match against Ottawa (Ottawa, IL). The Pirates come into the non-league match with a 13-6 record. In their last match, Ottawa was routed by Kaneland (Maple Park, IL), 4-3, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Coalers battle the Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL) in a Illinois Central Eight match, on Monday, May 5. Coal City will attempt to better on its 15-7 season record. The Comets come into the match with a 9-10 record after their 3-1 league loss to Peotone (Peotone, IL).
