In Wednesday's league test, the Garden City Cougars (Garden City, MI) softball squad overwhelmed the host Melvindale Cardinals (Melvindale, MI), by a count of 12-5.

Next, the Cougars meet the Alpena Wildcats (Alpena, MI) in a non-league test, on Saturday, May 3. Garden City will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the test with a 5-3 record after their 12-7 non-league win over Pinconning (Pinconning, MI).

The Cardinals (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Robichaud (Dearborn Heights, MI). The Bulldogs go into the Western Wayne test with a 0-9 record. In their last test, Robichaud was routed by Annapolis (Dearborn Heights, MI), 22-6, in a league test.
