The Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) baseball trounced the visiting Central Knights (Providence, RI), 8-2 in Thursday's league challenge.

The Chieftains now own a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they host East Greenwich for a Division 2 challenge on Monday, May 4. Ponaganset will clash with a Avengers team coming off a 8-0 league win over Prout (Wakefield, RI). The Avengers record now stands at 11-2.

With the defeat, Central drops to 1-9 on the year. The Knights travel to Cranston East (Cranston, RI) to clash with the Thunderbolts in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 2. The Thunderbolts go into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Cranston East lost 6-0 in their recent league challenge against La Salle Academy (New York, RI)
