Somerville Pioneers (Somerville, NJ) supporters left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Bound Brook Crusaders (Bound Brook, NJ), 5-3 in a league game.

With the triumph, Somerville improves its record to 9-3 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Bernards (Bernardsville, NJ) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league game on Saturday, May 2. The Mountaineers enter the game with a record of 5-6. Bernards won 12-0 in their recent non-league game against Voorhees (Glen Gardner, NJ)

The Crusaders now hold a 8-9 record. They play next when they host Gill St. Bernard's for a non-league game on Saturday, May 2. Bound Brook will play a Knights squad coming off a 12-6 non-league loss to Mount Olive (Flanders, NJ). The Knights record now stands at 2-12.
