Spectators at Monday's league match between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), witnessed Alexander Central's softball squad prevail over Freedom by a count of 11-1.

The Cougars now sport a 14-0 record. They play next when they host Hickory Ridge for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 6. Alexander Central will face a Ragin' Bulls squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Mooresville (Mooresville, NC). The Ragin' Bulls record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Freedom moves to 2-12 on the season. The Patriots travel to Shelby (Shelby, NC) to face the Golden Lions in a non-league match on Thursday, April 7.
