East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Jones Trojans (Trenton, NC), 10-0 in a league challenge.

The Mariners now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Lejeune for a Coastal Plains 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. East Carteret will battle a Devil Pups squad coming off a 11-0 league loss to Northside - Pinetown (Pinetown, NC). The Devil Pups record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Jones falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Southside (Chocowinity, NC) to battle the Seahawks in a Coastal Plains 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Seahawks enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Southside lost 16-1 in their recent league challenge against East Carteret (Beaufort, NC)
