Natchitoches Central Chiefs (Natchitoches, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Florien Blackcats (Florien, LA), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Chiefs now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Monroe for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 8. Natchitoches Central will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Ruston (Ruston, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 20-5.

With the loss, Florien falls to 16-8 on the campaign. The Blackcats travel to Negreet (Negreet, LA) to battle the Indians in a B District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Negreet lost 9-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Montgomery (Montgomery, LA)
