Pennsylvania High School Softball - Hempfield Area nudges Pine-Richland

The crowd at Monday's league match between the Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) and the host Pine-Richland Rams (Gibsonia, PA), saw Hempfield Area's softball squad nip Pine-Richland by a count of 3-2.
The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Butler for a WPIAL 6A 2 match on Thursday, April 7. Hempfield Area will face a Golden Tornado squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA). The Golden Tornado record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Pine-Richland falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Seneca Valley (Harmony, PA) to face the Raiders in a WPIAL 6A 2 match on Wednesday, April 6. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 1-0.
