In Monday's non-league contest, the Magoffin County Hornets (Salyersville, KY) softball team the visiting Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY), by a margin of 5-2.

With the triumph, Magoffin County moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Hornets travel to Breathitt County (Jackson, KY) to play the Bobcats in a non-league contest on Tuesday, April 5. The Bobcats come into the contest with a record of 9-5. Breathitt County won 8-0 in their recent non-league contest against Lee County (Beattyville, KY)

In their next game, the Cougars play the Floyd Central Jaguars (Eastern, KY) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, April 5. Morgan County will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Jaguars come into the contest with a 3-7 record after their 17-0 non-league win over Phelps (Phelps, KY).
