Abbott Panthers (Abbott, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX), 22-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host Dawson for a 1A Region II District 14 challenge on Thursday, April 6. Abbott will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 6-1 league loss to Italy (Italy, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 17-9.

With the loss, Avalon falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Wortham (Wortham, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a 1A Region II District 14 challenge on Friday, April 7. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 4-14. Wortham won 25-12 in their recent league challenge against Coolidge (Coolidge, TX)
