The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) and the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), saw Mount Airy's softball squad nip Alleghany by a count of 10-7.

The Granite Bears now sport a 4-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Elkin for a Northwest 1A match on Wednesday, April 5. Mount Airy will face a Buckin' Elks squad coming off a 6-1 league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Alleghany falls to 0-13 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to face the Greyhounds in a non-league match on Wednesday, April 5. The Greyhounds enter the match with a record of 3-7. North Surry won 13-3 in their recent league match against North Wilkes (Hays, NC)
