The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) and the visiting Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), saw East Surry's softball squad nip Surry Central by a count of 7-1.

The Cardinals now sport a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Stokes for a non-league match on Monday, April 10. East Surry will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Surry Central falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Golden eagles host North Wilkes (Hays, NC) to face the Vikings in a Foothills 2A match on Friday, April 7. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 4-7. North Wilkes lost 13-3 in their recent league match against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC)
