The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) and the host Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC), saw East Wilkes's softball squad nip Starmount by a count of 8-3.

The Cardinals now sport a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Caldwell for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 5. East Wilkes will face a Spartans squad coming off a 11-2 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, Starmount falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Rams host North Stokes (Danbury, NC) to face the Vikings in a Northwest 1A match on Tuesday, April 11. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 3-11. North Stokes lost 10-0 in their recent non-league match against Union Grove Christian (Lexington, NC)
