Ellet Orangemen (Akron, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Firestone Falcons (Akron, OH), 9-4 in a league challenge.

The Orangemen now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Canton Central Catholic for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12.

With the loss, Firestone falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Alliance (Alliance, OH) to battle the Aviators in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 10. The Aviators enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Alliance lost 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Carrollton (Carrollton, OH)
