Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Midd-West Mustangs (Middleburg, PA) and the host Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA), witnessed Midd-West's softball squad tip Hughesville by a count of 10-5.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Southern Columbia Area for a non-league match on Thursday, April 6. Midd-West will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Hughesville moves to 0-1 on the season. The Spartans host Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA) to face the Defenders in a non-league match on Thursday, April 6. The Defenders go into the match with a record of 2-3. Warrior Run lost 14-8 in their recent league match against Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, PA)
