East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA), 4-3 in a league test.

With the win, East Ascension upgrades its record to 16-10 on the season. The Spartans host Family Christian (Baton Rouge, LA) to battle the Flames in a non-league battle on Friday, April 5. The Flames enter the battle with a record of 11-11. Family Christian lost 12-2 in their recent non-league battle against Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, LA)

The Yellowjackets now possess a 15-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dutchtown for a 5A District 5 battle on Saturday, April 6. Denham Springs will play a Griffins squad coming off a 4-2 league loss to St. Amant (St. Amant, LA). The Griffins record now stands at 18-10.
