Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 6-12 record. They take the field next when they host Magee for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 5. Pearl will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Jefferson Davis County (Bassfield, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 1-13.

With the loss, Oak Grove falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Warriors host Meridian (Meridian, MS) to battle the Wildcats in a 7A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 10-8.
