The Cuthbertson Cavaliers baseball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates to 1 in the Cavaliers league win on Friday.
The Cavaliers now own a 15-1 record. They take the field next when they host Weddington for a Southern Carolina 4A test on Tuesday, April 8. Cuthbertson will play a Warriors team coming off a 12-4 non-league win over Watauga (Boone, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 12-3.
With the defeat, Porter Ridge drops to 3-11 on the year. The Pirates host Parkwood (Monroe, NC) to play the Wolf Pack in a non-league test on Wednesday, April 9. The Wolf Pack go into the test with a record of 4-11. Parkwood lost 6-1 in their recent league test against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)
