California High School Baseball - La Mirada wallops Downey

April 4, 2025: Downey, CA 90241

The La Mirada Matadores baseball team scored 17 runs and held the host Downey Vikings to 6 in the Matadores league win on Friday.

The Matadores now own a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Venice for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 9. La Mirada will clash with a Indians team coming off a 4-1 league loss to Riverview Sarasota (Sarasota, FL). The Indians record now stands at 18-3.

With the defeat, Downey drops to 12-7 on the year. The Vikings host Gahr (Cerritos, CA) to clash with the Gladiators in a Gateway test on Tuesday, April 8. The Gladiators go into the test with a record of 6-7. Gahr won 4-3 in their recent non-league test against Mountain Ridge (Herriman, UT)
