The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) and the visiting Tascosa Rebels (Amarillo, TX), saw Monterey's baseball team get by Tascosa by a tally of 2-1.

The Plainsmen (4-19) will now prepare for their battle against Abilene (Abilene, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league battle with a 15-7 record. In their last battle, Abilene held off Wylie (Abilene, TX), 6-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Rebels face the Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 battle, on Monday, April 7. Tascosa will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Sandies enter the battle with a 16-8 record after their 10-2 league win over Lubbock (Lubbock, TX).
