The Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) baseball trounced the host New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX), 7-1 in Friday's league challenge.

The Rangers now own a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they host Sweeny for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 5. Smithson Valley will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 4-1 league win over Columbia (West Columbia, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-8.

With the defeat, New Braunfels drops to 18-4 on the year. The Unicorns host Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX) to clash with the Chargers in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, April 8. The Chargers go into the challenge with a record of 16-6. Boerne-Champion won 7-5 in their recent league challenge against Pieper (San Antonio, TX)
