The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) and the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), observed Marvin Ridge's softball team notch a victory over Porter Ridge by a tally of 12-2.

The Mavericks (5-2) will now prepare for their bout against South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Sabres go into the non-league bout with a 0-7 record. In their last bout, South Mecklenburg was routed by Hough (Cornelius, NC), 15-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, April 8. Porter Ridge will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 14-3 non-league win over Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
