Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC), 18-0 in a league game.

With the triumph, Union Academy upgrades its record to 17-0 on the year. The Cardinals travel to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC) to play the Tigers in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A game on Tuesday, April 8. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 9-5.

The Bulldogs now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Thomasville for a non-league game on Wednesday, April 9. Albemarle will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 18-2 league loss to Salisbury (Salisbury, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-14.
