The Columbus Cardinals softball team scored 3 runs and held the host Hallettsville Brahmas to 1 in the Cardinals league win on Friday.

The Cardinals now possess a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rice Consolidated for a 3A Region IV District 25 battle on Tuesday, April 8. Columbus will confront a Raiders team coming off a 13-0 league loss to Tidehaven (El Maton, TX). The Raiders record now stands at 1-22.

With the loss, Hallettsville moves to 18-4 on the season. The Brahmas travel to Yoakum (Yoakum, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a 3A Region IV District 25 battle on Tuesday, April 8. The Bulldogs come into the battle with a record of 7-6. Yoakum won 9-8 in their recent league battle against Industrial (Vanderbilt, TX)
