The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the South El Monte Eagles (South El Monte, CA) and the visiting El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA), saw South El Monte's volleyball squad nip El Monte by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, South El Monte upgrades its record to 2-9 on the year. The Eagles travel to Taft (Woodland Hills, CA) to play the Toreadors in a non-league bout on Friday, April 8. The Toreadors go into the bout with a record of 17-11. Taft lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against Cleveland (Reseda, CA)

The Lions now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they host San Gabriel Academy for a non-league bout on Thursday, April 7. El Monte will play a Eagles squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 10-1.
