Apache Junction Prospectors (Apache Junction, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Coronado Dons (Scottsdale, AZ), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Prospectors now own a 8-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vista Grande for a 4A Black Canyon challenge on Friday, April 8. Apache Junction will face a Spartans squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Sahuaro (Tucson, AZ). The Spartans record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Coronado falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Dons travel to Seton Catholic (Chandler, AZ) to face the Sentinels in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Sentinels enter the challenge with a record of 10-5. Seton Catholic won 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Marcos de Niza (Tempe, AZ)
