North Carolina High School Softball - Avery County felled by Owen

The Avery County Vikings softball team (Newland, NC), was routed 11-1 in Tuesday's league test with the host Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC)

Coming up next, the Warhorses encounter the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A test, on Friday, April 8. Owen will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Patriots enter the test with a 5-6 record after their 3-2 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC).

The Vikings (0-8) will now prepare for their test against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers enter the Western Highlands 1A/2A test with a 1-10 record. In their last test, Mitchell was routed by Rosman (Rosman, NC), 10-5, in a league test.
