Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the South Lenoir Blue Devils (Deep Run, NC) and the host East Duplin Panthers (Beulaville, NC), witnessed South Lenoir's softball squad tip East Duplin by a count of 5-2.

The Blue Devils now sport a 10-1 record. They play next when they travel to Laney for a non-league match on Thursday, April 7. South Lenoir will meet a Buccaneers squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, East Duplin moves to 8-3 on the season. The Panthers travel to North Lenoir (LaGrange, NC) to meet the Hawks in a East Central 2A match on Wednesday, April 6. The Hawks go into the match with a record of 4-7. North Lenoir lost 8-7 in their recent league match against James Kenan (Warsaw, NC)
