North Boone Vikings (Poplar Grove, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL), 14-2 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rockford Christian for a Big Northern challenge on Wednesday, April 6. North Boone will battle a Royal Lions squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Stillman Valley (Stillman Valley, IL). The Royal Lions record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Genoa-Kingston falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Cogs travel to Belvidere (Belvidere, IL) to battle the Bucs in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 8. The Bucs enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Belvidere lost 10-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Carmel (Mundelein, IL)
