Vidor Pirates (Vidor, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Silsbee Tigers (Silsbee, TX), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 7-15 record. They take the field next when they host Bridge City for a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Friday, April 8. Vidor will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 4-2 league win over Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Orange, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Silsbee falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Orangefield (Orangefield, TX) to battle the Bobcats in a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Friday, April 8. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 9-5. Orangefield lost 6-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX)
