In Wednesday's league game, the host Portland Highlanders baseball team scored a tight 8-4 victory over the Old Saybrook Rams.
The Highlanders (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Coginchaug Regional (Durham, CT). The Blue Devils go into the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Coginchaug Regional edged Hale Ray (Moodus, CT), 10-2, in a non-league match.
The Rams (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Old Lyme (Old Lyme, CT). The Wildcats go into the Shoreline - Small match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Old Lyme edged Westbrook (Westbrook, CT), 19-5, in a league match.
