The Verona Hillbillies routed the visiting Bloomfield Bengals softball squad by a count of 20-1 in Wednesday's non-league battle.

The Hillbillies (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Johnson (Clark, NJ). The Crusaders go into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Johnson topped Elizabeth (Elizabeth, NJ), 19-18, in a non-league battle.

The Bengals now sport a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Caldwell for a Super Essex battle on Saturday, April 8. Bloomfield will meet a Chiefs squad coming off a 13-3 league loss to Columbia (Maplewood, NJ). The Chiefs record now stands at 0-2.
