The South Caldwell Spartans softball team scored 18 runs and limited the host Watauga Pioneers to 1 in the Spartans league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, South Caldwell moves its record to 10-2 on the year. The Spartans host North Davidson (Lexington, NC) to play the Black Knights in a non-league game on Saturday, April 15. The Black Knights come into the game with a record of 9-3. North Davidson lost 8-6 in their recent non-league game against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)

In their next game, the Pioneers play the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A game, on Tuesday, April 18. Watauga will attempt to move on its 6-8 season record. The Cougars come into the game with a 12-3 record after their 13-6 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).
