Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX), 8-5 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roma for a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Martin will battle a Gladiators squad coming off a 7-6 league loss to Nixon (Laredo, TX). The Gladiators record now stands at 10-14.

With the loss, Cigarroa falls to 1-14 on the campaign. The Toros host Nixon (Laredo, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 13-11. Nixon won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Roma (Roma, TX)
