Marshfield Pirates (Coos Bay, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Cottage Grove Lions (Cottage Grove, OR), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Phoenix for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Marshfield will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 24-0 league loss to Henley (Klamath Falls, OR). The Pirates record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Cottage Grove falls to 7-3 on the campaign. The Lions host North Bend (North Bend, OR) to battle the Bulldogs in a 4A Sky Em challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. North Bend won 11-7 in their recent league challenge against Junction City (Junction City, OR)
