The crowd at Friday's league match between the Cuero Gobblers (Cuero, TX) and the visiting La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX), saw Cuero's softball squad nip La Vernia by a count of 6-5.

The Gobblers now sport a 24-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to San Antonio Memorial for a 4A Region IV District 28 match on Tuesday, April 9. Cuero will face a Minutemen squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Gonzales (Gonzales, TX). The Minutemen record now stands at 2-12.

With the loss, La Vernia falls to 13-16 on the campaign. The Bears host John F. Kennedy (San Antonio, TX) to face the Rockets in a 4A Region IV District 28 match on Tuesday, April 9. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 4-13. John F. Kennedy lost 25-3 in their recent league match against Navarro (Geronimo, TX)
