Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting DuQuoin Indians (DuQuoin, IL), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Redbirds now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they host Anna-Jonesboro for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Frankfort will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, DuQuoin falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Indians host Elverado (Elkville, IL) to face the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 8-7. Elverado won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Egyptian (Tamms, IL)
