Schulenburg Shorthorns (Schulenburg, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Flatonia Bulldogs (Flatonia, TX), 15-4 in a league challenge.

The Shorthorns now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they host Shiner for a 2A Region IV District 29 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Schulenburg will face a Comanches squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over East Bernard (East Bernard, TX). The Comanches record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, Flatonia falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Ganado (Ganado, TX) to face the Indians in a 2A Region IV District 29 challenge on Monday, April 8. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 21-7. Ganado lost 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Weimar (Weimar, TX)
