William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA), 17-1 in a league challenge.

The Terriers now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hidden Valley for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. William Byrd will face a Titans squad coming off a 18-4 league loss to Salem (Salem, VA). The Titans record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Fleming falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Colonels host Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 4-3. Eastern Montgomery won 16-4 in their recent league challenge against Narrows (Narrows, VA)
