Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Buckeyes now own a 15-10 record. They take the field next when they host Carthage for a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Gilmer will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 8-1 league win over Center (Center, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 18-11.

With the loss, Spring Hill falls to 3-26 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Kilgore (Kilgore, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-15. Kilgore lost 14-3 in their recent league challenge against Henderson (Henderson, TX)
