Prairiland Patriots (Pattonville, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Grand Saline Indians (Grand Saline, TX), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host Commerce for a 3A Region II District 12 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Prairiland will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Rains (Emory, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 6-17.

With the loss, Grand Saline falls to 16-10 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Chisum (Paris, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 3A Region II District 12 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 2-11. Chisum lost 7-2 in their recent league challenge against Edgewood (Edgewood, TX)
