The Gulfport Admirals (Gulfport, MS) softball nipped the visiting Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS), 8-7 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Admirals (14-4) will now prepare for their bout against Ocean Springs (Ocean Springs, MS). The Greyhounds go into the 7A Region 4 bout with a 14-8 record. In their last bout, Ocean Springs held off Harrison Central (Gulfport, MS), 8-7, in a league bout.
The Pirates now possess a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to Poplarville for a 4A Region 8 bout on Tuesday, April 9. Pass Christian will confront a Hornets squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Greene County (Leakesville, MS). The Hornets record now stands at 10-8.
