Utica Redskins (Utica, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies (Johnstown, OH), 16-10 in a league challenge.

The Redskins now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Lakewood for a Licking County challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Utica will battle a Lancers squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Cardington-Lincoln (Cardington, OH). The Lancers record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Johnstown-Monroe falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Johnnies host Newark (Newark, OH) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-4.
