The Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) softball routed the host Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX), 7-0 in Friday's league bout.
The Hawks (7-10) will now prepare for their bout against Grulla (Rio Grande City, TX). The Gators go into the 4A Region IV District 32 bout with a 2-7 record.
The Tarpons now possess a 4-13 record. They play next when they host Raymondville for a 4A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, April 9. Port Isabel will confront a Bearkats squad coming off a 11-7 league loss to La Feria (La Feria, TX). The Bearkats record now stands at 1-8.
